Numerical study on the aerodynamic performance of offshore wind turbine in wind-rain fields
With the continuous development of wind power projects, the external rainfall environment has a certain impact on the aerodynamic performance of offshore wind turbines. The NREL-5MW offshore wind turbine was employed as the research object.A numerical model for turbulence was established using the standard k-ε model. The turbine′s aerodynamic performances in wind and wind-rain fields were compared and analyzed, and the impact of wind and rain on the overall aerodynamic performance of the wind turbine was explored. The results show that the proportion of raindrops on the windward side of the wind turbine structure is the highest during rainfall.Although the proportion of rain load to wind load on the wind turbine is relatively small, the rain load on the tower accounts for 10%of the wind load on the tower, and the force cannot be ignored. In addition, rainfall will also reduce the power generation efficiency of the wind turbine and make the blades vibrate naturally, affecting its working stability, and it is necessary to ensure the quality and strength of the node connection.
