A Review on the Research of Liquefied Air Energy Storage Technology
Air liquide energy storage is an energy storage technology that uses air as the medium and working fluid,which belongs to the category of thermal-mechanical energy storage technology.LAES technology has the advantages of high energy density,scalability,high cost competitiveness and geographical constraints,which has attracted more and more scholars in recent years.However,these reviews rarely address how LAES works,key components,experimental models,and integration of LAES with other systems.This article fills the above gaps by providing a comprehensive review of LAES technology.In addition to applications in the grid,such as peak shaving,load shifting and dealing with the intermittency of renewable energy generation,the paper also introduces various other applications through LAES integration with other external energy,including the recovery and utilization of waste heat and cold energy and coupling with the chemical production sector.It provides a theoretical basis for the future research and development of air liquide energy storage technology.
