A Precise Measurement Method for Total Hardness of Water Quality Based on Blank Value Correction Model
The hardness of water quality is a routine item in environmental monitoring, which has an important impact on the safety of drinking water and the use of industrial water resources. The third level distilled water used in the blank sample(diluted with distilled water)may contain a small amount of calcium and magnesium ions, but the calculation method in the standard "Water Quality-Determination of Total Calcium and Magnesium-EDTA Titration Method"(GB 7477-87)does not consider the impact of blank values on the results. It was demonstrated through experiments that the determination of total hardness of water quality cannot ignore the influence of blank samples on the measurement results, and a total hardness correction model based on the influence of blank value factors was proposed. This method is applicable to groundwater and surface water, and can improve the accuracy of detection results in advance of meeting standard requirements.
