Research and Application of HDPE/K2O3Ti Composites
High-density polyethylene(HDPE)/potassium titanate whisker(PTW)composites were prepared using twin screw extrusion, and the effect of different filling amounts of PTW on the properties of HDPE composites was studied. The results show that the flexural modulus and flexural strength of HDPE/PTW composites significantly increase with the increase of PTW content, while the tensile strength slightly increases and the impact strength decreases. This indicates that potassium titanate whiskers have a good effect on increasing stiffness and toughness of HDPE.At the same time,PTW has also improved the heat resistance of the material. At a PTW content of 25%,the load thermal deformation temperature of the composite material has increased by nearly 20℃.In addition,DSC analysis shows that PTW has a crystallization nucleation effect on HDPE,and the crystallization peak temperature increases with the increase of PTW.When the PTW content is 20%,the crystallization peak temperature increases by 3.7 ℃.
