Study on Mechanical Properties of Plant Fiber Reinforced Geopolymer Materials
In order to explore the effect of plant fiber on the mechanical properties of geopolymer materials and solve the problem of poor toughness of geopolymer materials, wheat straw was selected in this paper. After pretreatment with 4%concentration of hydroxide solution,slag-based geopolymer materials were mixed with 1%,2%,3%,4%and 5%mass ratio. The effects of different amounts of wheat straw fiber on the mechanical properties of geopolymer materials were analyzed by compressive strength test and flexural strength test, and the change rule of flexural-compressive ratio was analyzed. The results show that the addition of straw fiber will lead to a slight decrease in compressive strength. The compressive and flexural strength of geopolymer materials increased first and then decreased with the increase of fiber content. When the fiber content was 3%,the 28 d flexural strength increased by 21.6%,the compressive strength was 40.7 MPa,the ratio of flexural strength to compressive strength was 0.221,and the toughening effect was the best.
