Development of Desulfurization and Purification Process for Calcium Carbide Furnace Tail Gas
The removal of sulfur, oxygen, and other impurities from the tail gas of calcium carbide furnace is a difficult problem in the comprehensive utilization of calcium carbide furnace tail gas. Therefore,a desulfurization and purification process is proposed, which uses TSA impurity removal+hydrolysis desulfurization+deep desulfurization+low-temperature deoxygenation+hydrocarbon removal methods to remove organic sulfur and impurities from the tail gas of calcium carbide furnace. The deoxygenation is carried out using a composite oxide catalyst, and the oxygen content at the inlet of the deoxygenation reactor is controlled to be around 0.5%through circulation,By stabilizing the temperature rise of the deoxidation reaction and reducing oxygen at low temperatures, the risk of catalyst coking and carbon deposition is controlled, extending the service life of the deoxidation catalyst.Precious metal catalysts are used for dehydrogenation, which can be carried out at lower temperature conditions.Industrial experiments have shown that this process can remove sulfides from gases to below 0.1 mg/m3 and oxygen content to 30%μL/L,the content of unsaturated hydrocarbons is less than 0.1 mg/m3,thus meeting the requirements for deep utilization.
