Oxidative Degradation of a Variety of Organic Compounds by Hydroxypropyl-β-Cyclodextrin/Ozone Envelopes
In order to prolong the half-life of ozone and retain its selective oxidation,hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin is enveloped with ozone. The oxidation properties of ozone/hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin envelopes(O3/CD)were studied, the oxidation properties of the envelopes prepared by two different liquid phase preparation methods were studied, and the oxidation properties of O3/CD against indigo trisulfonate(indigo),2,2-azazolidine-bis-(3-ethyl-benzothiazoliline-6-sulfonic acid)diamine salt(ABTS)and methyl orange(MO)were studied, and O3/CD could prolong the half-life and improve the oxidation of ozone. The oxidation of ozone introduced into the cyclodextrin solution is significantly better than that reported in the literature, and it shows high oxidation performance under the introduction of saturated ozone, and after the introduction of 10 mg/L ozone into the cyclodextrin solution of 0.5 mmol/L,it shows strong continuous oxidation ability to Indigo,ABTS and MO,which provides a new path for the oxidative remediation of water and soil pollutants.
