Analysis on Offshore Produced Water Treatment Process and New Technologies
With a high dependence on foreign crude oil and natural gas,the form of China's energy security is becoming more and more serious. In recent years, the offshore oil and gas production increased year by year, and has become an important energy growth pole in China.A large amount of produced water is generated during the production of offshore oil and gas fields, which needs to be discharged or reinjected after being treated by appropriate processes to reach the corresponding standards. The produced water was usually treated by the"sedimentation-air flotation-filtration"process in Bohai oil and gas fields, while treated by the"hydrocyclone-filtration"process in Beibu Gulf oil and gas fields of the South China Sea,and then reinjected into the formation. However, for low-permeability oil and gas fields, ceramic membrane treatment was usually added at the end of the produced water treatment process. The produced water was usually treated by the"hydrocyclone-sedimentation/hydrocyclone-air flotation"process in other oil and gas fields of the South China Sea and the East China Sea and discharged after reaching the standard.New produced water treatment technologies such as filtering hydrocyclone, dual compact flotation unit, fibrous coalescence separation technique can realize the combination of oil-water separation technology in a limited space, membrane separation technology is suitable for the fine treatment of low-permeability offshore oil and gas fields, but each new technology needs further research to realize industrial application.
