Improvement of the Determination Method for Chloride in Sodium Hypophosphate
In the HG/T3253-2009 standard for industrial sodium hypophosphate, the determination of chlorides is carried out using the silver nitrate potentiometric titration method. However, during the titration process, the author found that the potential value fluctuated greatly and was extremely unstable, making it difficult to distinguish the endpoint of the sudden jump value. This article briefly discusses the reasons for unstable potential values and proposes improvement methods. The improved method still uses silver nitrate standard titration solution for titration, and the titration endpoint is determined based on the potential jump. The experimental results show that the improved method disperses the solution during the measurement process, stabilizes the potential value, exhibits obvious sudden jumps, and provides accurate results. It can also reduce the consumption of reagents.
