Network Pharmacology-based Approach to Study the Mechanism of Cyathula Officinalis Kuan in the Treatment of Hypertension
Objective:Elucidate the mechanism of action of Cyathula officinalis Kuan for treating hypertension based on network pharmacology. Methods:The TCMSP database was used to obtain the principle active ingredients and target found in Cyathula officinalis Kuan and the OMIM,Drugbank,TTD,CTD and DISGENT databases were used to obtain the target genes involved in hypertension. We also used STRING platform to conduct"protein-protein interactional"(PPI)analyses on the intersection targets and then used the METASCPE database to perform GO functional enrichment analysis and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis on the intersection targets. Results:The main chemical components of Cyathula officinalis Kuan are Quercetin,Cyasterone,Rubrosterone,β-Sitosterol,Oleanolic acid,et al;A total of 170 intersection targets were obtained including AKT1,IL6,VEGFA,TP53,CASP3,TNF,JUN,EGF,MAPK1,EGFR,PTGS2,STAT3,et al;GO enrichment analysis found that the biological process were enriched primarily in inflammatory response, response to wounding, response to lipopolysaccharide, reactive oxygen metabolism process and apoptosis signal pathway,et al and KEGG enrichment signal pathway were enriched primarily in AGE-RAGE signal pathway of Complications of diabetes, tumor pathway, hepatitis Bm,TNF signal pathway, proteoglycans in tumors,et al.Conclusion:There is a possibility of multiple pathways and targets in the treatment of hypertension by Cyathula officinalis Kuan. This paper reveals the potential molecular mechanisms involved in the treatment of hypertension by Cyathula officinalis Kuan.
