The Effects of Chinese Herbal Extractions Made from Licorice,Ginger and Orange Peel on the Physiological and Biochemical Properties of Strawberries
Using"Red Face"strawberries as experimental materials, this study investigates the physiological and biochemical effects of Chinese herbal extractions prepared from licorice, ginger, and orange peel. The results showed that compared to the control group T1,the treatment group T8 with a mixture of licorice, ginger, and orange peel significantly improved the growth status of strawberry seedlings, manifested by an increase in root length, plant height, leaf area, and plant fresh weight.Meanwhile, this treatment could significantly increase the content of chlorophyll a+b in strawberry leaves by approximately 50.46%.In addition, treatment group T8 increased the net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, and stomatal conductance of strawberry leaves to a certain extent. Moreover, the research results also indicate that the three mixed herbal extractions have better effects on strawberries than single or two mixed herbal extractions. The results of quantitative real-time PCR showed that the treatment group T8 played an important role in inducing the expression of antioxidant enzyme related genes in strawberries.Overall, the treatment group T8 of the three mixed Chinese herbal extractions showed the best treatment effect on strawberry seedlings.
