Recent Progress in Catalysts for Selective Hydrogenation of Dimethyl Oxalate
Dimethyl oxalate(DMO),as an intermediate product of coal to ethylene glycol process, can be selectively hydrogenated to various products such as ethylene glycol, methyl glycolate, ethanol, etc. The key is to develop selective hydrogenation catalysts with high performance. Here we provide an overview of catalysts for selective hydrogenation of DMO,including the principles of hydrogenation, active components and hydrogenation routes, and the effects of such different carriers, promoters, process condition, and the application of catalysts at this stage.
