Study on Surface Oxidation and Corrosion Behavior of Stainless Steel Wire Electroplated Copper
The surface oxide and the point corrosion of chloride ion on copper plated wire of 304 stainless steel are studied by means of metallographic microscope,SEM and EDS etc.The results showed that:there are oxides such as Cu2O,CuO,Cu2(OH)2CO3 on the surface of copper plated wire under the natural oxidation condition of air environment. The three kinds of substances harmonize the very complex surface oxidation color of copper plating wire, the surface of copper plating layer is loose and rough, which will enhance the surface oxidation. When the weight fraction of chloride ions is 6.27%,the surface of the copper layer is corroded, but the stainless steel substrate is not corroded. When the weight fraction of chloride is 17.17%,the metal matrix of copper-plated stainless steel wire is completely corroded, and the copper-plated stainless steel wire is corroded and fractured. The surface of the copper plating wire is seriously corroded in the air temperature above 35℃,but there is no corrosion below 25℃.
