Construction of a Case Library for Green Chemistry-Taking the Preparation of Biobased p-xylene from Furan Compounds as an Example
Strengthen the cooperation between universities and companies in industry, academia, and research, update and improve teaching content in a timely manner based on the current situation of green chemistry course construction, and build knowledge point cases for biomass resource development and utilization. The direct synthesis of bio-based para xylene from renewable resources has important scientific significance and potential application value in promoting the efficient utilization of renewable biomass resources and the development of high-value bio-based chemicals. The aim of this work is to improve the yield and selectivity of p-xylene(produced by furan)using zeolite modified with La2O3 and CeO2 with different loading capacities and Si/Al ratios. On modified zeolites, the yield of para xylene generated by directional transformation of furan compounds can be increased. The selectivity of PX has significantly improved, mainly due to the effective removal of non-selective external acidic sites and the reduction of modified zeolite pore size.
