Establishment and Application of HET-CAM to Evaluate Soothing Effect of Cosmetic Ingredients
A method was developed for evaluating the soothing effect of cosmetic ingredients by making innovative improvements to the classic HET-CAM,and the soothing effects of five cosmetic ingredients were studied.In this method,0.05% SDS solution was dripped onto the surface of the CAM to establish the SDS irritation model.The test solution was prepared by configuring the SDS solution with different concentrations of soothing cosmetics ingredients,which was then dropped onto the surface of the CAM.Within 5 minutes,the time of bleeding,vascular dissolution,and coagulation occurrence was recorded,and the IS value was calculated to evaluate the irritation of the tested solution.The results showed that 0.05% SDS can cause moderate irritation of the CAM,and different soothing ingredients can reduce or completely antagonize the irritation of 0.05% SDS.Therefore,a method is established to evaluate the soothing effect of ingredients by HET-CAM.By comparing the IS value,the degree of antagonism against SDS irritation of different ingredients is determined,which can be used to evaluate the soothing effect of ingredients.
