Efficacy of Mesoporous Alumina for Treatment of Organic Pesticide Glyphosate
The mesoporous alumina was used as the adsorbent for effective treatment of organic pesticide glyphosate.Mesoporous alumina was synthesized using the sol-gel method. The effects of preparation conditions such as precipitator type, dosage of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB)and calcination temperature on the adsorption properties of mesoporous alumina were investigated. Results demonstrated that when ammonium bicarbonate was used as a precipitator, with a molar ratio of CTAB to alumina at 0.33 and calcination temperature at 550℃,mesoporous alumina exhibited an impressive adsorption capacity for glyphosate with iniatl concentration of 100 mg·L-1 up to 85 mg·g-1 at 720 min.Compared to other reported materials, this material outperforms most metal oxides and other mesoporous materials due to its exceptional potential in glyphosate removal.
