Progress on the Micro wave-Assisted Recycling of Spent Lithium Battery Graphite
In the context of the realization of the national"dual-carbon"goal,the lithium battery market momentum is developing rapidly, and the accompanying problem is the gradual increase in the number of spent lithium batteries. Therefore, the recycling of spent lithium batteries is an urgent and necessary task. However, the current market only focuses on the recovery of valuable metals, and graphite materials are usually discarded or burned as fuel, resulting in a large amount of valuable carbon materials being wasted.Due to the excellent microwave absorption capacity and conductivity of graphite, microwave radiation generates Joule thermal discharge-plasma coupling effect on spent graphite. This special function can help remove impurities, structural repair and graphite embedding and peeling in an effective way. Therefore, this paper reviews the progress of microwave-assisted removal of impurities and repair of damaged graphite structure, and discusses the breakthroughs in microwave-assisted preparation of expanded graphite, graphene and graphene-based materials, porous graphene and so on.It aims to provide a reference for the utilization of value-added resources of spent graphite and the preparation of new energy storage materials,so as to promote the sustainable development of the battery industry.
