Experimental Research and Process Design of Lithium Recovery from Wastewater in Production of Ternary Cathode Materials for Lithium Batteries
This study focuses on the wastewater generated during the production of ternary cathode materials for lithium batteries.Through experimental verification, the feasibility of lithium recovery using the sodium carbonate precipitation method was confirmed. The optimal process conditions for lithium precipitation were determined as follows:the reaction temperature of 85 ℃,the reaction time of 70 min,the sodium carbonate dosage at 1.1 times the theoretical amount, the sodium carbonate mass concentration of 250 g/L,and the stirring speed of 200 r/min.Repeated tests demonstrated that this process is stable and reliable with an achieved lithium recovery rate exceeding 85%.Based on these findings,a design for recovering lithium from wastewater in the production of ternary cathode materials for lithium batteries has been proposed to provide guidance for future engineering applications.
