Advances in the Pharmacological Effects of Tetrahydropalmatine
Corydalis yanhusuo is a common Chinese herbal medicine,which has the function of activating blood circulation,dispersing blood stasis,and relieving pain.In clinic,it serves as an analgesic and is commonly used for relieving pain in the internal medicine(such as digestive ulcer pains),prenatal paroxysm,postnatal uterine contraction,menstrual pains,headache,and insomnia,etc.The chemical composition of Corydalis yanhusuo includes alkaloids,terpenoids,amino acids,polysaccharides,organic acidsand volatile oils,etc.Tetrahydropalmatine is the main active chemical component of Corydalis yanhusuo,which has significant effects on central nervous system,cardiovascular system,and digestive system.As the main active chemical constituent,tetrahydropalmatine has clinical applications in anesthesia and sedation,reducing the addictive property of opioid drugs,antiarrhythmia,delaying myocardial remodeling,improving hemodynamics,and inhibiting hyperlipidemia.In this review,the pharmacology of tetrahydropalmatine is summarized to provide evidence for further researches.
