Carnosine is a water-soluble dipeptide composed of β-alanine and L-histidine.It has various biological activities such as anti-oxidation,anti-glycation,anti-UV damage,anti-inflammation and regulation of lipid metabolism.It is mainly distributed in skeletal muscle,spleen and nervous tissue.Due to its wide range of biological activities,carnosine has been extensively studied in cosmetic and pharmaceutical fields,and has become a promising compound for skin care and disease prevention.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the mechanism of carnosine activity for the development of effective skin care products.At present,there are more research articles about camosine,but the review of skin care is very rare.This paper focuses on the recent studies on the biological activity and efficacy mechanism of carnosine in the field of skin care,in order to provide some reference value for the development and application of skin care products.
