Study on Preparation and Drug-Loading Properties of Tannic Acid-Crosslinked Gelatin Microspheres
Objective:In this paper, tannic acid gelatin microspheres were prepared by an emulsification-crosslinking method with natural plant extract tannic acid as crosslinking agent and gelatin as raw material, and the preparation process was optimized and evaluated. Methods:Taking appearance morphology and average particle size as indexes, the preparation process of tannic acid gelatin microspheres was optimized by single-factortests screening combined with orthogonal design experiment, and finally the tannic acid gelatin microspheres loaded with anthocyanins were prepared. The drug encapsulation rate and drug load of gelatin microspheres were determined by pH differential method. Results:Tannic acid cross-linked gelatin microspheres have good pelletization, rounded shape and uniform size. The optimized microspheres have an average particle size of(74.83±1.16)μm.At the same time, the encapsulation rate and drug loading of gelatin microspheres were up to 89.90%and 3.68%respectively.Conclusion:Gelatin microspheres crosslinked by tannic acid have good morphology, suitable particle size and high drug loading rate, which provide experimental basis for the follow-up research of tannic acid crosslinked gelatin microspheres.
