Advances in Synthesis of Glycosylated Derivatives of Puerarin
Puerarin is an isoflavone compound extracted from pueraria,which has a wide range of pharmacological activities,and is often used in the treatment of cardiovascular,cerebrovascular diseases,reducing blood sugar and lipids,and anti-cancer.However,puerarin has poor fat and water solubility and low bioavailability.Structural modification is one of the important means to change the properties of drugs.Glycosylation modification of puerarin can well increase its water solubility and thus increase its bioavailability.The main methods of glycosylation include biocatalysis and chemical synthesis.In this paper,the common synthesis methods of glycosylated derivatives of puerarin are reviewed.
