Comprehensive Review on Formation and Prevention of Gas Hydrates in Wells
The formation of gas hydrates in natural gas wells during the extraction process can lead to numerous challenging engineering issues such as obstructions and stuck pipe columns, failure of seals, improper placement of plugs, and impacts on gas recovery. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the formation mechanisms, conditions, and locations of hydrates, summarizing prediction methods for hydrate formation. It also discusses commonly used chemical inhibitors and physical heating measures for prevention and control, analyzing their mechanisms of action and applicable scopes.Based on the current state of research, several integrated recommendations are proposed to enhance the technology for preventing and controlling hydrates in gas wells, ensuring the efficient extraction of natural gas resources.
