Research on the Generation of Allenes From Propargyl Alcohol
Due to the importance of α-(p-aminophenyl)propargyl alcohol as a crucial synthetic precursor, and the difficulty in capturing the elusive allenyl intermediate during its reaction process, there has been widespread attention on capturing intermediates of such compounds. This paper reports, for the first time, that under the synergistic catalysis of a Lewis acid and diphenyl phosphate,α-(p-aminophenyl)propargyl alcohol can be in situ generated into an allenamide intermediate under mild conditions, with a yield of up to 90%.This method validates its chemical activity and thereby determines the activation mode of propargyl alcohol.
