Synthesis of Metal Nanoclusters and Their Application in Hg2+Ion Detection
Mercuric ion(Hg2+)released from human activities, natural phenomena, and industrial sources is regarded as the global pollutant of world's water.Contaminated water by Hg2+has several adverse effects on human health and the environment even at low concentrations. Therefore, rapid and cost-effective method is urgently required for the detection of Hg2+.Due to its unique optical, physical, and chemical properties, metal nanoclusters(MNCs)have attracted considerable attention for the construction of sensors with high selectivity and sensitivity as a promising material. This review is focused on the synthesis strategies of MNCs and their applications in Hg2+detection.
