Research on the Applicability of New Materials for Seawater Systems of Offshore Platforms
It has become a routine practice for offshore platforms to use the surrounding inexhaustible seawater as the process treatment medium of the platform.Because of the commonness,economy and importance of seawater utilization,it is worth paying attention to the research on the service life,manufacturing cost,corrosion resistance and other aspects usually involved in the selection of seawater systems.In this paper,several commonly used seawater pipeline materials are systematically compared and evaluated,and some new materials are introduced.After comprehensively considering the advantages and disadvantages of various materials,this paper proposes a material selection scheme that is most suitable for the seawater system of offshore platforms,and expounds its reasons and basis.The purpose of this paper is to provide reference for the design and construction of seawater systems of offshore platforms.
