Preparation of Hippophae rhamnoides L.Leaves Gel Mask and Evaluation of Moisturising Performance
A UVA-resistant gel mask was prepared with Hippophae rhamnoides L.leaves extract as the main ingredient and its efficacy was evaluated.Hippophae rhamnoides L.leaves extract was prepared and its antioxidant activity was determined in vitro by the DPPH method. The formulation of the mask matrix was optimised by the one-way experimental method. The organoleptic and physicochemical properties of the finished mask were compared. In order to meet the requirements of the test indexes of traditional Chinese medicine facial masks(GB/Z 40668-2021),the CM825 skin moisture tester was employed to assess the moisturising efficacy of the emulsion, while the anti-UVA efficacy of apple was utilised to evaluate the anti-photo-aging efficacy of the hydrogel mask. The results demonstrated that the finished mask exhibited brownish-yellow and translucent characteristics, with no discernible odor,a gentle and delicate touch, moderate viscosity, and a satisfactory smearing effect. The physico chemical properties were in alignment with industry standards, and the moisturizing efficacy and anti-UVA efficacy were deemed satisfactory. Therefore, the Hippophae rhamnoides L.leaves hydrogel mask can be developed and utilized as a suitable skin care product.
