Preparation and Properties of Biochar/TiO2 Photocatalytic Composites
Biochar has the advantages of wide source, large specific surface area and abundant surface functional groups. The photocatalytic oxide nano-TiO2 composite with biochar is a promising photocatalytic composite material. The porous biocarbon materials were prepared from pinecone shells by activation of KOH and HCl and pyrolysis at high temperature, and were then combined with nano-TiO2 particles to prepare biocarbon/TiO2 composites. The morphology, structure and properties of biological carbon/TiO2 composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),specific surface area detection(BET),Raman spectroscopy and UV-VIS absorption spectroscopy. The results showed that the pore size of the biocarbon/TiO2 composite was 100~200 nm and the specific surface area was 165.36 m2/g.The photodegradation rate of the biocarbon/TiO2 composite on Rhodamine B solution for 120 min was more than 90%,which provided a new material for the effective treatment of Rhodamine B organic dye wastewater.
