Geochemical Characteristics of Rare Earth Elements in Dominant Plants and Rhizosphere Soils in Lanmuchang Mercury-Thallium Mine Area from Xingren County,Guizhou Province,China
To study the geochemical characteristics of rare earth elements in the dominant plants and their rhizosphere soil in Hg-Tl mining area of Lanmuchang,Xingren City,Guizhou Province, different parts of nine dominant plant parts and their rhizosphere soil samples were collected in the study area. The content of rare earth elements in the samples was determined by isotope dilution-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ID-ICP-MS).Combined with the single pollution index method, enrichment coefficient method and transport coefficient method, the pollution level of soil rare earth elements in the study area and the enrichment and transport characteristics of rare earth elements by plants were discussed respectively. The results showed that the average total amount of soil light rare earth elements(∑LREE=342.764 4 mg/kg)in the study area was higher than that in Guizhou Province(∑LREE=198.600 0 mg/kg),and the average total amount of soil heavy rare earth elements(∑HREE=33.836 7 mg/kg)was also higher than that in Guizhou Province(∑HREE=19.970 0 mg/kg).The average value of light and heavy rare earth ratio(∑LREE/∑HREE=10.161 4)was also higher than that of Guizhou soil(∑LREE/∑HREE=9.944 9),which showed the characteristics of light rare earth enrichment.Eu in the soil was at a mild-moderate pollution level,Pr,Nd,Sm,Gd and Tb were at a mild-mild pollution level, and other rare earth elements wre at a mild pollution level. The content of rare earth elements in the aboveground part of Dicranopteris pedata was higher than that in the root, and the content of rare earth elements in the aboveground part of other plants was less than that in the root. The lanthanide distribution patterns of all plant roots and aboveground parts were basically consistent with the lanthanide distribution patterns of soil, indicating that rare earth elements did not undergo significant fractionation during migration in plants. The bioconcentration factors(BCFshoot and BCFroot)of rare earth elements in all studied plants were far less than 1,indicating that the roots and aboveground parts of all studied plants had weak enrichment ability for rare earth elements.
