Preparation and Properties of Lignin/PLA Composites
Lignin/PLA composites were prepared by melt blending of poly(lactic acid)(PLA)and lignin(Lignin). The crystalline morphology, melt flow rate, tensile properties and impact properties of the samples were characterized by melt flow rate tester, universal testing machine, impact testing machine and hot stage polarizing microscope. The results show that the addition of Lignin could reduce the spherical size of PLA and disrupt its spherical regularity. The melt flow rate, elongation at break and impact strength increased first and then decreased with the increased of Lignin content. The melt flow rate of the sample reached a maximum value of 60.5 g/(10 min)when the Lignin content was 15%,which was 23.67%higher than that of the blank sample. The elongation at break of the sample reached a maximum value of 4.86%when the Lignin content was 10%,which was 43.36%higher than that of the blank sample. The impact strength of the sample reached a maximum value of 3.65 kJ/m2 when the content of Lignin was 5%,which was 95.19%higher than that of the blank sample.
