Failure Analysis of Fixed Bolts in Syngas Compressor
The fixed bolt of the syngas compressor low pressure cylinder partition of a chemical plant compressor breaks in the operation process.In order to find out the reason of the failure,the macroscopic analysis,fracture morphology analysis and energy spectrum analysis are used in this work.The macroscopic fracture morphology and microscopic fracture morphology shows that the fracture of the bolt is brittle fracture,with intercrystalline cracks in the fracture.SEM energy spectrum analysis reveals that S and Cl elements exist on the rod surface,micro cracks and bottom corrosion pit,causing serious corrosion of the bolt and the stress corrosion fracture of the bolt.
