Characteristics of Heavy Metal Content in Underground Wells of Electroplating Plant and Preliminary Health Risk Assessment of S District in Guangzhou
Ten kinds of heavy metals and conventional water quality indexes in the water quality of the underground well of the electroplating plant in District S were investigated and studied for 5 consecutive years(2016-2020),and the harm of heavy metals in the groundwater of the study area to human health of adults and children was assessed by using the single factor evaluation method and the water environment health risk assessment model of USEPA.The results showed that the carcinogenic risk level of As caused by heavy metal carcinogens in the groundwater of electroplating enterprises in District S was mainly concentrated in 10-5 a-1 for adults and 10-4 a-1 for children, which exceeded the maximum acceptable risk level stipulated by Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The approach to the maximum acceptable level stipulated by ICRP should be taken seriously. It should be regarded as the key object of risk decision management.
