The Road to High-Quality Development of Major Strategic Regions in China in the New Era:Logic,Effectiveness, and Prospects
Since entering the New Era,China has successively planned and deployed five regional major strategies, and promoted a high-quality development road with Chinese characteristics in national major strategic regions. On the basis of combing the basic logic and practice history of high-quality development of major strategic regions, based on the connotation of the new development concept, the study constructs a high-quality development evaluation index system to comprehensively and three-dimensionally assess the high-quality development of national major strategic regions. The study finds that the level of high-quality development in the major strategic regions of the country is generally showing a steady upward trend, but there is a spatial polarization phenomenon, among which the Yangtze River Delta,Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao,and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei are relatively prominent in multi-polarization phenomenon. In the short term, there are different trends in the transfer of low,medium-low and medium-high level cities, but with the extension of the time span, the cities basically tend to develop at a higher level. The study concludes that the development process of major national strategic regions should focus on the relative shortcomings of high-quality development in each region, synergistically improve the level of development in each dimension, and formulate differentiated development policies according to the conditions of the location and the development foundation,so as to further weaken the spatial imbalance of high-quality development between regions.
