Research hotspots and frontiers of functional magnetic resonance imaging technology in the application field of Alzheimer's disease based on CiteSpace
Objective To explore the current status and frontier hotspots of functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)in the application field of Alzheimer's disease(AD)through bibliometric methods,in order to grasp future research trends and provide new insights for future studies. Methods A visual analysis was conducted on the literatures related to the application of fMRI in AD,retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Web of Science databases up to November 2023 through the CiteSpace software system. Results The overall trend of literatures,in both Chinese and English, from 2004 to 2023 showed an upward trajectory, with 423 Chinese literatures and 703 English ones.Co-occurrence and cluster analysis revealed that research hotspots were mainly related to"functional connectivity,low-frequency amplitude, cognitive impairment, cognitive functions, mild cognitive impairment, and resting-state fMRI".The research frontier was often associated with"early diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and emerging technologies".Conclusion fMRI technology is widely applied in the field of AD,with the integration of emerging technologies being the direction for its future development.
