The influence of different attachment dimensions on non-suicidal self-injury behavior in adolescents with depressive disorder
Objective To explore the different attachment dimensions in depressive adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI)behavior or without NSSI,and provide consult for prevention and intervention to NSSI.Methods A total of 95 adolescents with depressive disorder were selected and divided into NSSI group(with NSSI behavior)and nNSSI group(without NSSI behavior)according to the diagnostic criteria of NSSI.All subjects were assessed with Adolescent Non-suicidal Self-injury Assessment Questionnaire(ANSAQ),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Experiences in Close Relationships-Relationship Structures Scale(ECR-RS).The differences between two groups were compared, and NSSI behavior's influencing factors were explored through binary logistic regression analysis. Results Among 95 patients,59 cases were detected with NSSI,and the detection rate was 62.11%.The total scores of SDS,SAS,and factor scores of attachment anxiety to father, attachment anxiety to mother and attachment avoidance to mother of ECR-RS in NSSI group were all higher than those in nNSSI group(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis suggested that SAS score, attachment anxiety to father and attachment avoidance to mother were risk factors for NSSI behavior in depressive adolescents(P<0.05).Conclusion This study suggests that the incidence of NSSI is high in adolescents with depressive disorder.Excessive anxiety, attachment anxiety to father and attachment avoidance to mother are risk factors for NSSI in depressive adolescents. In addition to improving the patients'mood, attention should also be paid to improving attachment relationships with parents or other important people to reduce the occurrence of NSSI behavior.
