Reliability and validity of the Chinese Adolescent Daytime Sleepiness Scale(CADSS)in adolescents with depressive disorder
Objective To assess the reliability and validity of Chinese Adolescent Daytime Sleepiness Scale(CADSS)among adolescents with depressive disorder. Methods A total of 412 adolescents with depressive disorder[outpatients&inpatients(admission time≤2 d)]were selected through convenience sampling method for a questionnaire survey. The total sample was randomly divided into two subsamples by SPSS 26.0 statistical software, sample 1(n=174)for exploratory factor analysis and sample 2(n=238)for confirmatory factor analysis.Youth Self-Rating Insomnia Scale(YSIS)and Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS)and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression(CES-D)were used to test the criterion correlation validity. Results All item scores of CADSS were positively correlated with the scale's total score(P<0.01).Exploratory factor analysis extracted a common factor with eigenvalue>1.Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the single factor structure model fit well. The total score of CADSS was positively correlated with the total scores of ESS,CES-D,YSIS,and dimension scores of insomnia symptom and daytime impairment(P<0.01).In this study, the Cronbach's α coefficient of CADSS was 0.89,and the split-half reliability was 0.79.Conclusion CADSS has good reliability and validity in adolescents with depressive disorder, and can be used for clinical evaluation of daytime sleepiness in adolescents with depressive disorder.
