Survey on the awareness of mental health knowledge among the general population in Xiong'an New Area
Objective To explore the mental health status,awareness of mental health knowledge,and its related factors among the general population in Xiong'an New Area.Methods The staff of 20 community health service centers and 33 township health centers in Xiong'an New Area,were mobilized to invite residents aged 15~70 years old to fill in the online questionnaire by sending QR code posters and website links.The questionnaire consisted of two parts:general demographic data and mental health knowledge questionnaire.Results 2 517 out of 2 591 questionnaires were valid.The total awareness rate was 77.22%,and the average score was(15.44±2.61).Among the four modules of the questionnaire,the correct rates of mental illness knowledge(67.95%)and mental health-related festivals(55.51%)were relatively low.Univariate analysis showed that the subjects with different ages,educational levels,occupations,monthly incomes,marital statuses and self-evaluations of mental health had different scores of mental health knowledge questionnaire(P<0.01).Multiple regression analysis showed that educational level,occupation,marital status,age and self-evaluation of mental health were influencing factors for the awareness rate of mental health knowledge(P<0.01).Conclusion The awareness rate of mental health knowledge among the general population in Xiong'an New Area still needs to be further improved.Emphasis should be placed on the publicity of festivals related to mental health.Residents with older age,low educational level,divorce/widowhood,no income and low self-evaluation of mental health should be the key objects of mental health education in the future.
