Relationships between serum levels of miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p and cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia and their diagnostic values
Objective To explore the relationships between serum levels of miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p and cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia, and to analyze the diagnostic values of miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p in the diagnosis of schizophrenia. Methods 100 patients with schizophrenia were selected as study group, and 50 healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations were selected as control group.Study group was assessed with Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS),and all subjects were assessed with MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery(MCCB).The expression levels of serum miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p of all subjects were detected.Spearman correlation was applied to analyze the correlations among serum miR-124-3p,miR-144-3p,PANSS and MCCB scores.ROC curve was applied to analyze the diagnostic values of serum miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p for schizophrenia. Results All factor scores of MCCB in study group were lower than those in control group(P<0.001).The expression levels of serum miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p in study group were higher than those in control group(P<0.001).The total score of PANSS in study group was(96.43±11.75),which was positively correlated with serum levels of miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p(P<0.001).All factor scores of MCCB were negatively correlated with serum levels of miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p in study group(P<0.001).The AUC of combined diagnosis was higher than those of serum miR-124-3p or miR-144-3p single diagnosis(P<0.001).Conclusion Serum miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p are highly expressed in patients with schizophrenia, which are associated with mental condition and cognitive function.Combined diagnosis of serum miR-124-3p and miR-144-3p for schizophrenia has good efficacy.
