Bridge cushion cap is an important component connecting bridge pier and pile foundation.Through the analysis of a large number of engineering examples,it is found that the controlling design factor of the cushion cap is often the"tie bar"at the bottom of the cushion cap.According to the Code for Design of Highway Reinforced Concrete and Prestressed Concrete Bridges and Culverts(JTG 3362-2018),this paper gives the formula of"brace-tie bar"for pile cap for calculation,and carries out entity simulation analysis through Midas FEA to discuss the force transfer mechanism of pile cap,verify the reliability of relevant formulas in the code,and hope to provide some basis for similar engineering design in the future.
