Study on surface free energy of modified asphalt with different types of anti-stripping agents
To investigate the effects of different types of anti-stripping agents on the adhesion and water stability of asphalt, this study primarily explored the impact of these agents on the surface free energy of SBS-modified asphalt binders.Three types of anti-stripping agents were selected and mixed with SBS-modified asphalt at various dosages. The contact angles of the modified binders were measured using an optical contact angle analyzer, and the surface free energy components and total surface free energy were calculated based on the Good-van-Oss-Chaudhury theory. The research findings indicate that the use of anti-stripping agents significantly increases the surface free energy of SBS-modified asphalt, reflecting enhanced resistance to deformation and improved adhesion properties.
