Research on the performance of bio-asphalt modified asphalt binder
This paper investigates the performance of bio-modified asphalt(BMA)composed of bioasphalt partially replaced with asphalt blended from pig manure by thermochemical conversion.Bio-asphalt converted from pig manure can not only serve as a renewable alternative to petroleum-based binders, but also provide a solution for pig manure waste management. In addition, the application of bio-asphalt will reduce the cost of asphalt and reduce the construction cost of asphalt pavements.However,bio-asphalt may reduce the high-temperature performance of the binder. To address this issue, this paper applies polyphosphoric acid to BMA and explores its effect on the performance of BMA.
