Educators need to have a clearer,more autonomous,and more consistent sense of di-rection than the general public in order to effectively fulfill their guiding,pulling,signaling,and fil-tering functions and effectively carry out their educational duties.For a long time,educational pro-fessionals have been in a state of confusion,conformity,suspension,and neglect,indifference,and insensitivity to the direction in the complexities of life.In the great historical changes of society,many educational stakeholders are in a state of busy confusion,do not pay enough attention to distin-guishing the direction of education,society and human civilization progress,and cannot clearly iden-tify the direction of their own and their students.They often show themselves as working hard,be-coming the source of job burnout and many educational problems.Teachers who are not good at"raising their heads to enjoy working hard"cannot cultivate people who are good at"raising their heads to enjoy working hard."Lack of autonomy,shortsightedness,and utilitarianism are the main reasons that make people lose their sence of direction.Shortsighted and utilitarian educational views,as well as corresponding management and evaluation,are the root causes of some"anti-education"phenomena.In order to correct the problems in the direction of educating people,it is necessary to recognize and address the problems in determining the direction of education,further clarifying the characteristics of education that guides individuals,which requires improvement from the root caus-es,environment,and social conditions,and need to choose suitable corrective strategies for different issues.Only by positioning oneself in the direction of human civilization's forward progress based on an understanding of its direction,can people determine their own direction.Only by emphasizing the enhancement of students'ability to think and identify the direction of human civilization's forward progress in the process of education,and choosing and determining one's own position and direction based on one's individual conditions,can educators achieve better happiness through education.
