Teacher-Student Conflict and Its Educational Reform from the Perspective of the Theory of Social Conflict
The study of teacher-student conflict from the perspective of the theory of social con-flict is a logical insight into the causes, forms and influences of teacher-student conflict, which aims at turning teacher-student conflict into the strength to renew teacher-student relationship and seek the improvement of the relationship. From the perspective of the theory of social conflict,teacher-student conflict contains at least three meanings:Teacher-student conflict is an acquired creation, not an innate endowment;Teacher-student conflict exists through opposition, not through conversa-tion;Teacher-student conflict is a test of relationships, not a control over individuals. These implica-tions indicate that behind teacher-student conflict lies the dualist position of social radicalism based on conflict and resistance, and its function is manifested in generating teacher-student oppositional relationships and strengthening the value of the teacher-student community;Blocking unequal dia-logue between teachers and students and promoting individual social recognition. Thus, the educa-tional reform of teacher-student conflict from the perspective of the theory of social conflict requires:analyzing the reasons of teacher-student conflict, and coordinating multiple subjects involving man-agement;Grasping the essence of the opposition forms of teacher-student conflict,to promote a truly equal dialogue between teachers and students;Transforming the tension of teacher-student conflict, and constructing democratic and harmonious life between teachers and students.
