A Study on Xinfu's"The Eight Sets of Shanxi"and Its Musical Characteristics
For more than half a century,many scholars have discussed"The Eight Sets of Shanxi",which is the Chinese traditional wind and percussion music.Related research involves music types,music scores,tonality,music morphology,cultural inheritance,etc.The existing research has very important implications for people's understanding of"The Eight Sets of Shanxi".In fact,the performance occasions of"The Eight Sets of Shanxi"were different after Zhao Chenggui's death.The occasion of performance has shifted from private music workshop to folk music activities.Xinfu's"The Eight Sets of Shanxi"is inherited in the latter performance occasion."Xinzhou Eight Musical Instruments Art Troupe"is the only troupe that can fully perform the eight sets of Shanxi in Shanxi region.This paper takes Xinfu's"The Eight Sets of Shanxi"performed by"Xinzhou Eight Musical Instruments Art Troupe"as the main research object,and analyzes its musical characteristics in the music structure,tonality,melody development techniques,etc.,and explore the individual musical characteristics of Xinfu's"The Eight Sets of Shanxi".
