With the Patrimonialisation of the Grand Canal,the rotection and development of the Grand Canalis becoming more and more important.Exploring and utilizing cultural resources along the canal to drive tourism and promote economic development is a common means for canal development and protection in the areas along the canal.However,this approach neglects the subject value of People along the canal while focusing on cultural resources.To promote the development and protection of the Grand Canal,the subjectivity of the people along the canal should be activated,so that they can actively participate in the practice of canal development and protection.Therefore,we should adhere to the protection concept of balancing ecology and culture,and improve the living environment of People along the canal.Relevant departments should recognize the importance of public participation in heritage protection and pay attention to local social organizations,folk cultural organizations,and other active forces outside of official power,Promote the construction of diversified entities for the development and protection of the Grand Canal,and form a two-way cooperation between the official and private sectors,in order to effectively implement the development and protection of the Grand Canal.
