Among the readers of Dream of the Red Chamber,there have long been two diametrically opposed views of"esteeming Chai and suppressing Dai"and"esteeming Dai and suppressing Chai".The reasons are that,first,different readers will have different understandings and feelings about the same character due to their own experiences and values,and second,because of the author's unique writing style.The confiscation of the household property and the special environment of the times led Cao Xueqin to write with the help of obscure language,and at the same time,Cao Xueqin skillfully used hints and metaphors to help readers correctly understand her creative intentions.The personalized courtyard residences in the Grand View Garden metaphorically represent the characters'characters,becoming an important perspective for understanding the images of Daiyu and Baochai.
