Practices and Challenges of Blending Learning in Chinese Higher Education:A Review and Outlook
Blended learning is widely regarded as a crucial means to enhance teaching quality and talent cultivation in Chinese universities, and it has become a research hotspot in academia. This paper synthesizes relevant literature from 2012 to 2023 to systematically analyze the research and practice status of blended learning in Chinese universities from six aspects:implementation modes, platform construction, evaluation systems, teaching effects, implementation fields, and major influencing factors. It also discusses the current issues:the need for innovation in teaching modes, inadequate teaching resources and hardware facilities, optimization of evaluation systems, and enhancement of teacher quality and readiness. To effectively address these challenges, specific directions for improvement are proposed to deepen the theoretical and practical research on blended learning and further improve teaching effectiveness and overall quality.
