Provenance Variation of Berry Traits and Contents in Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb for Fruit Use
In order to explore the berry traits and inherent species variation of Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb for?fruit?use, and provide scientific basis for the breeding and genetic improvement of excellent fruit use black rice varieties.During the natural ripening season of Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb,20 wild berries from different sources in Fujian,Jiangxi,Zhejiang, and other regions were collected for phenotypic traits and content analysis. The results showed that:(1)There were significant differences in the phenotypic diameter of blueberry berries from different provenances. The average diameter of blueberry berries from 20 provenances was 5.67mm,with the maximum being 8.07mm and the minimum being 3.27mm.(2)The inclusion contents of Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb berries are mainly soluble sugars, amino acids, proteins, minerals, and vitamins, with an average content of 156.12mg/g,21.99mg/g,8.45mg/g,0.92mg/g,and 0.78mg/g,respectively.There are significant differences among different sources, and the average acidity in the inclusion contents is 7.21 mg/g,showing an increasing trend with the increase of latitude and the enhancement of inland characteristics.(3)There is a positive correlation between the phenotypic diameter of blueberry berries from different sources and the content of soluble sugars and proteins, but a negative correlation with the content of amino acids, vitamins, and acidity. The research results provide a theoretical reference for the breeding, genetic improvement, and deep development and utilization of Vaccinium bracteatum Thunb for fruit use.
