Agriophyllum squarrosum,a New Record Species of Chenopodiaceae in Shandong Province
Agriophyllum squarrosum is an annual plant of Chenopodiaceae,due to fast seed germination,well-developed root system and rapid growth,it can be well adapted to drought,so it is able to grow in arid and desert areas.It can prevent wind and fix sand,and therefore is of important ecological significance.In addition,A.squarrosum seeds are rich in various trace elements,proteins,starch,flavonoids,saponins,and polyphenolic compounds,and have high edible and medicinal value.In September 2023,during the investigation of herbaceous plant resources of Shandong Province,a plant species of Agriophyllum was discovered in Laizhou,Yantai,Shandong Province,and identified as Agriophyllum squarrosum(L.)Moq,it is a newly recorded plant in Shandong.
