Adaptability analysis of gas source fluctuation in a gas engine and its improvement
In order to enhance the adaptability of gas source fluctuations in a gas engine, reduce engine load fluctuation, tripping, blasting, shutdown and other faults caused by fluctuation in low concentration gas sources,a 12 cylinder low concentration gas engine matching unit is selected as the research object. The impact of gas source fluctuation on engine operation is analyzed and studied, and the control system function is optimized by adding fault load reduction function and experimental verification is carried out.The results show that when the change rate of methane volume fraction in gas is less than 0.1%/min,the engine power fluctuation is not significant and the control system can restore the engine to a stable state through closed-loop control;when the change rate of methane volume fraction in gas is greater than 1%/s,the engine operates at 90%and 50%of the rated power, resulting in significant power fluctuations and accompanied by blasting during the test process. After adding fault load reduction function and parameter calibration in the gas engine control system, when the gas source fluctuates violently, the control system promptly reduces the engine power and quickly corrects the gas flow rate, which enable the engine to safely and smoothly pass through the gas fluctuation period and enhance the adaptability of the engine to gas source fluctuation.
